Kelvyn Park's Favorite Characters
Well, for us at Amundsen high school 1st per. we have people working on everything -- we’ve made groups, so we get things done faster. Actors are in the hall while backstage crew is in the room working with their design teams. Melvin is tagging our ensemble name BME (Big Money Entertainment)on to a paper for the play. Stephanie and Lily are working costumes. Propose is getting their music together. Me, as you could have guessed already, I’m recording the process of the class.

Our music crew are talking about the music for our scene – they’re trying to look for hip-hop music and trying to choose from their list. The set group are going to the library to get pictures of things they’ll need and the light crew are talking about when the lights need to change in our scene and why by looking at the script. They’re drawing tables, seats, etc. for the sketch of the set. Costumes are cutting out pictures of good costumes. Michael, from the music crew, is going to breakdance with the hip hop music (Big City Lights). He doesn’t use power moves, but it should still be cool.

April 26, 2010Today, I was in a group with the characters Al, Molly and Nelson. They were planning out the characters music, deciding which song is right for each of their characters. I heard them make a lot of comments about their songs, such as Al (played by Ricardo P.), his choice would be "Simple Man" originally by Lynyrd Skynyrd- it's a very good choice because he said Al is an uptight person, he's protective of Molly. Molly (played by Jessica G.) was next but didn't pick a song yet, they started suggesting rock songs because she's hardcore or something hip hop because of Reina Ray and where she grew up. Nelson (played by Jose R) picked the song "Over" by Drake and he chose that song because Trip and Nelson are hip hop artists, they love music, and they are DJ's- they want to do something in life with music.
April 27, 2010Today I watched the groups- Sound designers, Costume designers, Set/Prop designers, Graffiti Artists. When I talked to the Sound group they came up with pretty good music from the '90's. When asked for comments they all agreed things would go perfect, saying it's a good story and they can now see how music interacts in the play. The Costume designers both agreed that it is pretty fun but it's also hard to find specific clothing for each character. The Set/Prop designers said it was pretty hard to find the exact props but mainly fun because they get to choose what designs to use. The Graffiti Artists had strong comments on why they like graffiti- because it's easy and it's everyday life to be tagging. They think it's a good story and that it's very interesting.-Ashley P.

News form Mr. Tuggle's Class
Groups actually work together without having a quarrel. Talking and passing ideas around the table to figure out one great decision. The design group seems to be eager to mess around with their thoughts. The music group has many mixed and crazy beats but need to expand.
- Benjamin M.News from Mr. Higgin's class:
For the past few days we have been in the auditorium. The class was divided into two groups. One is the production and the other is performance. Both groups are doing their best on making the play as perfect as possible. We still have a couple of days here. If we keep this up, we are going to do great. This project is never goin to go away form our heads.
